MISSION STATEMENT
BY SWAMI BRAHMAVIDYANANDA
As a member of the Ramakrishna Order of Monks, I have founded Temple Universal of California, a non-profit
organization, with the expressed purpose of establishing a balance between our human condition and those spiritual laws that prevail within all religions.
Through the interfaith work that I've done, I've noticed people within the different religions, though entertaining the idea of a larger spiritual environment, unable to embody a real solution.
I've pondered this and have come to realize that a universal place of worship is so very central to the manifestation of a universal spirituality.
What the inter-faith community, as well as the new age and the advanced wisdom of transpersonal psychology desperately needs is a place of worship that will allow this new understanding to manifest. This website is my effort to draw attention to this need.
How to have a simple, elegant, open-hearted spirituality embodied in a religious environment that's free of dogma and hidden agendas?
By distributing the ideas of Temple Universal
of California through the Internet along with hoping to establishing an actual community with a material structure
called "Temple Universal", we can bring about the manifestation of a spirituality
that includes all faiths.
Religions have undeniable similarities. These similarities reflect a common connection with a Higher Power which is our social contract as well as our spiritual destiny. By letting go of surface differences and by emphasizing the same spiritual truth within, we can actively build a connective understanding between ourselves and the world, drawing upon the inspirations, metaphors and images of all religions.
VISION STATEMENT
As a 501c3, Temple Universal of California is looking for property, especially in Los Angeles or surrounding areas. We are seeking equally motivated individuals who are willing to donate property to help manifest this vision.
Is there anybody out there with some extra money, looking for a good cause? Are you a major corporation that has to annually donate money for tax deductions?
As a monk without any desire for personal wealth, my interest, and the interest of our Board of Trustees, is to get an abandoned Church, Cathedral or Temple and convert it into a place of universal worship.
If you or anyone you know is able and willing to donate money or property to a non-profit organization that's passionately interested in embodying a universal spirituality, your destiny is blessed.
